Who we are
GridSubmit is a DNO application service based in the United Kingdom. We submit G98 notifications and G99 applications to Distribution Network Operators on behalf of solar installers and homeowners.

What data we collect
When you use our service or contact us, we may collect the following personal data:
- Name and contact details (email address, phone number)
- Company name and address (for trade installers)
- Installation address and postcode
- MPAN number and technical details of the installation
- Uploaded files (site plans, single-line diagrams, datasheets)
- Communication history relating to your application
We do not collect payment card details directly. Any payment processing is handled by third-party providers under their own privacy policies.
How we use your data
We use your personal data only for the following purposes:
- To prepare and submit DNO applications on your behalf
- To correspond with you about the progress of your application
- To send you confirmation emails and export number notifications
- To respond to enquiries or callback requests

- Contract performance — processing is necessary to carry out the service you have requested.

Who we share your data with
We share your data only where necessary to deliver the service:
- Distribution Network Operators (DNOs) — your installation details are submitted directly to the relevant DNO as part of the G98/G99 process.
- Email service provider (Brevo) — used to send application confirmations and correspondence. Brevo processes data under their own privacy policy and GDPR-compliant data processing agreements.
We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data with any third parties for marketing purposes.
Data retention
We retain your personal data for as long as is reasonably necessary to deliver the service and for a period of up to 7 years thereafter, in line with standard UK business record-keeping requirements. Uploaded files are retained for the duration of the application process and may be deleted once the application is complete.
Your rights
Under UK GDPR, you have the following rights regarding your personal data:
- Access — you can request a copy of the data we hold about you.
- Rectification — you can ask us to correct inaccurate data.
- Erasure — you can ask us to delete your data where there is no lawful reason to retain it.
